The Trident was JoE's first kite design, developed during the winter of 2005/2006. From the outset its emphasis was on extreme pitch performance, but with strong spin characteristics. The result was a freestyle kite that has aggressive performance in a smaller range of tricks.

- The Trident excels at pitch based tricks and incorporates Roll Bars & Yoyo Cage, making it yoyo and multi-wrap with incredible ease.
- Yoyo stoppers are equipped with a slip-catch. If a line tries to slip off of the Roll Bar after a trick input, the catch will prevent this.
- The leading-edge material covers socket and yoyo stopper cut outs to eliminate line snags. All are internally reinforced.
- The trailing-edge is heavily reinforced to ensure longevity throughout the kite's lifetime.
- Adjustable leech line.
- Non-snag, 3-piece nose construction.
- Exposed stitching protected by tough 'Moonie Tape', preventing failure due to spine-rubbing.
- Removable wing tips, and a 2-piece spine enable the kite to be packed down to less than 90cm.
